Sensorial examination, blind tasting, evaluating and giving scores to a series of wine samples, in an organized environment that respects the pre-established rules of an international jury. A professional wine tasting, new for the WineUp Fair in Transylvania audience, both for specialists and amateurs, passionate about the wine flavours.
This will be a unique masterclass organized in the second WineUp day, in a very contest-like specific atmosphere, an event that will represent as close as possible the wine tasting in blind done by the professional WineUp jury. The public of this year’s WineUp Fair will have the special occasion to truly test their tasting skills and to experiment from a sensorial point of view something that can be rarely organized at such a level, for the wine culture passionates. During the masterclass the audience will be engaged in understanding the tasting instructions, the notation rules, then into the actual blind tasting, in revealing the identity of the wine samples and comparing the scores given by each participant with the scores of the professional WineUp Official Selection jury.
Imagine a room having all the necessary conditions for a contest, where the services are dedicated to a professional evaluation, where the identity of the wine bottles is secret. In such an atmosphere you will have the opportunity to personally evaluate the quality of the samples, by giving grades to the wines in accordance with the rules of evaluation. The calibration of your tasting and evaluating abilities will be done by comparing your scores with the official results, and the after talks will be more valuable because they will be marked by the exchange of ideas, opinions, sensations, quality information, done together with a part of the members of the WineUp Official Selection jury.
It is an unconventional event that is defined by the conventions of a professional wine tasting. The moderator of this masterclass will be Ioana Bidian Micu, organizer of the WineUp Fair in Transylvania and, at the same time, the president of the evaluation committee of the WineUp Official Selection. The experience and the passion with which Ioana validates her expertize in evaluating the wines, in organizing a debate about the quality of the wines, as well as her desire to intermediate the authentic approach between the wine passionates and the professional wine world, are the sustaining pillars of this masterclass.
