New York, New York… exuberance, mystery, dynamics, pride, chance, beauty, bliss. Probably one of the most fascinating places in this world, with an effervescence typical of the best champagnes, the story of the New York State wine perspective will be brought to Cluj for the first time, at the second edition of the WineUp Fair in Transylvania.
We offer you the possibility, within this masterclass, to discover a special viticultural region that we know little about, with an interesting wine tasting with wines brought to you directly from Long Island, Finger Lakes and Hudson Valley. We will have the rare occasion to encounter the wine culture of the New World, the American one, where the strategies of growing the vineyards, wine production, wineries management and of positioning on the international market represent elements of novelty for many of us.
Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Lemberger, Pinot Noir, Cayuga White, Seyval Blanc, Vidal Blanc, Traminette - these are all varieties that are mainly grown on the vineyards close to the Lakes Keuka, Seneca and Cayuga, and also those from Long Island. Given the principle ”Working class spirit / World class sparkle” or the advice ”Come on, drink your dessert first!”, these areas are known for the quality of their aromatic wines and their sparkling wines with character.
The general overview of the New York terroir will be presented by a specialist in the field, with an experience of more than 16 years in the American world of wine. Currently a Metro New York District Manager for Kobrand Distribution, Adam Elod knew since he was a child that his career path will be permanently marked by the fascinating culture of wine. He was brought up learning how to produce wine with his father, and after he emigrated in the United States, he passed through a series of professional development stages - from being a cook, bartender, bar manager, wine director for an important italian restaurant in Connecticut, after that Wine Manager at Brescon Barton Inc., North East Manager for Kysela Pere et Fils, and since 2014, District Manager at Kobrand. During all this time he engaged in obtaining certificates as a Sommelier, Specialist of Wine and Wine Educator, and in June this year he will be examined as a future Master of Wine.
The masterclass Explore the New World - Discover the New York State Wines will be a very special one by the nature of the subject and also by the nature of the area presented. We invite you to reserve your places as soon as tickets will be available on the www.wineup.ro website.
